OCD Symptoms plague millions and there seems to be absolutely no cure for this malady, or is there? I find that there are so many people that plague the forums and tell you that there is no way possible to get rid of your OCD, but obviously how could they know, they are there because they are suffering with it too!

One of the things that you need to understand about OCD Symptoms is that they come and go and we all know that OCD morphs, but what you should know is that you can actually get rid of OCD. Of course there are many kinds of OCD, there is classic OCD, there is pure OCD, etc. So which one do you have?

I can honestly tell you that it doesn’t matter which kind of OCD you have because the underlying cause is the same for all types of OCD and that is fear. Simply put, if you destroy the underlying fear that causes your OCD symptoms then your OCD cannot exist anymore.

Well who am I and why am I qualified to tell you these things? I’ve literally worked with over a hundred people personally to help them get rid of their OCD. That’s the who, the why is simple, I want to help people who think they have to suffer from this, and you don’t have to suffer anymore my friend.

So what is the next step in stopping your OCD Symptoms? One of the things that you can do is to catch yourself when you are giving into OCD behavior such as asking yourself “what if this, what if that?” Once you realize that you are leading your thinking with your questions you will be on the right track.

So what do I mean by “leading your thinking with questions?” Here is an example. If your OCD symptoms dictate that you need to wash your hands because you had a bad thought, you may be asking yourself, “What bad thing will happen if I don’t wash my hands?”

See how this kind of thinking can actually make you do OCD behavior and you are giving in to your OCD Symptoms. No instead you can use questions to take your mind away from OCD thoughts. One of the things that you can do is instead ask yourself, “What would someone without OCD do?” Then you may realize that they are happier because they ask themselves different questions. I have prepared some powerful OCD materials for you below, enjoy!

OCD study is taking place all over the world and we are finding that there are things about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder that are just not true. Our current knowledge shows that OCD is actually not a disease but a set of habits. This is something that is truly groundbreaking when you think about it. All this time we have been told that OCD is a disease and now we know better. Now it’s been told that it’s a disease by people who don’t fully understand it. If they don’t understand it, they call it a disease which legally allows them to create “drugs” to solve the problem and turn it into a billion dollar industry. A lot of people when they hear this will say, “Oh here we go…” Unfortunately it’s too late for them, they’ve been socially brainwashed. But those of you who think for yourselves and have an open mind, you are in for a real treat.

You see, because you understand that ocd study is something that shows the truth. People like me and others who spend time with others with OCD, who had OCD ourselves, can really and truly understand the deepest levels of it because we have something that no one else has: We can feel it. That is right, we can feel what OCD is like because we remember and that way we can really understand the underlying causes more thoroughly than someone on the outside just observing those with OCD. If you truly understand what is going on, you are the true expert on the subject. I would implore you to stop listening to people who are on the outside observing with their clipboards and their degrees. They got their degree by learning about OCD from books from people who learned about OCD from books. Start listening to those who are on the inside reporting to you. One of those people would be me.

It’s kind of funny the power of social conditioning. When we consider ocd study and what is told about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder on the news and in the media is from doctors who have never had it. It’s sad really, where is the voice of those who have had it and beat it? How come they are suppressed meanwhile these doctors are lying to the general public telling them that they cannot get rid of OCD because it’s a disease! It’s not and nothing could be further from the truth! I can assure you that since I am not rich or famous, I have a voice and that is the internet. The internet levels the playing field so that the little guy like me who had OCD for several years and got rid of it and helps others to do the same can have a voice. I hope that you are listening because the voices of those who have had OCD and beat it are crying out to you. They are saying, “Hey, you can beat it!”

Please don’t take my word for it when it comes to ocd study, instead, look at the information and teachings that people like me provide and try it for yourselves, check out the complete difference that you will experience and I guarantee you that this will make you start to question the “facts” around you. You will start to question whether something is actually true or not. Did you know that there are cures for cancer? Did you know that there are cures for heart disease? I implore you to think for yourselves and don’t just be sheep believing whatever you see on the TV! I have some great information for you about OCD below that I know will help you if you use it, enjoy!

The cause of obsessive compulsive disorder in humans is all psychological, which means that it’s not because of some chemical imbalance that is caused by some sort of disease or disorder. The reality is that because of the habit of OCD, in the moment when a sufferer is thinking about OCD or something related, that is when the chemicals are affected in the brain. What we can find is that there are so many people hung up on semantics, they will fight to the death to point to changes on an MRI and other medical tests. The reality is that OCD is a set of habits that is formed when the brain is trying to deal with a certain set of thoughts or situations.

It is the job of the brain to survive so the cause of obsessive compulsive disorder originates when people attempt to deal with something. This can happen even to children at a very young age. A belief is formed and it may be faulty by false associations. Just like when a child touches a hot stove because the burner was bright red and the child was curious. Then when the parent wears a shirt that is of a similar color to the hot stove and the parent goes near the child, the child may cry and no one knows why. The child has created a faulty belief that the shirt will burn him or her.

Even though the child may even know that the shirt will not really burn him or her, they still feel the anxiety and fear that they had when they touched the hot stove, so the emotions are transferred to this new situation and the logical part of the situation is trumped by the emotional part. Because there is no real way to deal with a situation like this logically that is readily thought of by the child, the child will then to turn to magic thinking where they will say something in their head, they’ll lightly touch the short real quick to see if it’s hot even though they know it’s not. This is because the emotions of the previous experience are evoked with this new stimulus, the new stimulus being the shirt.

Another cause of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is when people are told from an early age religious teachings and or right and wrong principles and then they are taught the consequences of these things. Sometimes people will create faulty associations with these teachings. What is especially weird is that there can be adults who don’t notice anything different or odd, yet the cause of obsessive compulsive disorder for them crept up on them or so it seemed. In reality people who have OCD engage in OCD like behavior before they have that moment when they realize that there is a problem. People with OCD don’t realize there is a problem usually until they feel intense anxiety. I have great information on OCD for you below, have a great day and enjoy!

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is as common as the common cold, however most people who suffer with it don’t even know what it is at first. You should note right away that it is not some kind of disease or malady that cannot be cured. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. OCD is simply a set of habits and you formed them unknowingly. That is why most people feel like OCD crept up on them, but in reality, there were many indicators that you did not know to look for along the way. I will forgo those things for now and talk about some of the things that you can do to help get you on the right road to stop Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.

What you should first understand about Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is that you must first believe that you can get rid of it. We are limited by our beliefs. If the Wright brothers did not believe that we could fly, then we would still not be able to for instance. So we can see that beliefs will either enable or hinder us. It’s really our choice when it comes to what we believe. Ok, so now that you believe that you can get rid of OCD, What can you do to stop it? There are a number of things and here they are:

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder can start to be phased out by simply being lazy. See there are a lot of things about the human condition that most of us look at as weaknesses, but as every good chess player knows, sometimes a perceived weakness can be turned into your biggest strength. So if you know that being lazy comes easy for us as humans, why don’t we apply it to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder? For example: Let’s say that you feel like you have to go and wash the dishes three times in a row, what you can do is simply say to yourself, “ah, I’ll just do it later, I’m too tired right now.”

Now you can see that it is indeed easier to sit on the couch then it is to get up and do a useless ritual. However your mind will experience great anxiety at first. Studies have shown that the worst part of anxiety goes away within thirty minutes to an hour, so don’t fret. Most people simply don’t give anxiety enough time to go away. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder comes in many forms. For example there is pure O OCD and there is classic OCD. Pure O OCD is where you do rituals in your head such as repeat mantras to yourself. Classic OCD is where you may wash your hands obsessively.

Another thing you can do is to put it off. Here’s an example: You can use procrastination, which comes easy to us as humans to stop giving in to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. This is very similar to what I just said above, but the key difference is that above I just said to say to yourself that you don’t feel like doing it cause it’s too tiring. However, the major difference with this is that you will give yourself a time that you will do it later. So for example, if you feel like you have to get up and wash the dishes three times, you can say to yourself, “I’ll do it in an hour or so.” This way you are giving your mind a chance to let the anxiety fade away just like the studies have shown to be effective. I have prepared some powerful OCD information for you below, enjoy!

Intrusive thought information written about in forums and magazine articles are more often than not a less than satisfactory source of help. This is because many authors have not gone through OCD for themselves, and thus lack the means to render effective aid to other people. Expertise and care must be used when such a thing is done, or undesirable consequences may occur, such as: No effect at all, wasted time, or even winding up worse than before. You would not want someone fixing your vehicle that does not have proper mechanical training, so of course you do not want someone lacking personal experience trying to help cure your mind.

What many people have a tendency in doing is to forfeit trying to rid them of OCD after only one attempt has been made. This usually leads to depression on top of the intrusive thoughts you already suffer from. Giving up too easily puts your mind in a weaker state of mind, because it becomes more accustomed to failure, and thus accepts it on a greater scale than others. Even if a few attempts fail, you need to remain optimistic and keep searching. The answer is out there, and is closer to your grasp than you may believe.

Once an effective solution has been located, you must stick with it until completion, and be patient along the way. Your mind needs time and small steps in order to accept the change necessary to overcome and break your intrusive thought patterns. If you attempt to rush the process, your mind will become more confused, and even with a great solution provided to you, the difficulty level will increase significantly, and it may become temporarily impossible until you reset the treatment from stage one. No solution can cure you overnight, but that does not mean being patient and utilizing a great plan cannot speed you along the way!

Focus is also an important part of a cure. You must only utilize one type of treatment at a time, or you risk making zero progress at all. If you bombard yourself with a multitude of intrusive thought removal methods, even if the correct answer is amongst them, it will very likely not be found because your mind does not understand which path to take. This is why focus is so incredibly important if you are serious about being cured of OCD.

It is imperative that you only accept assistance from individuals trained to do so, especially when it comes to training your mind to better itself. I know it may have been difficult trying and failing at different methods, but that is not your fault. Many treatment methods are flawed, but soon you will find one that will show you what you really are: A winner! Remember that no solution will be able to cure you overnight, so being patient is very important. Focus on one method and only one method at a time. I hope you accept the solution which will now be laid before you.

Please enjoy the information I have for you just below!

OCD help is offered in many ways these days. There are many different methods that people have come up with to combat obsessive compulsive disorder. A popular method of treatment for your symptoms is to use medication. This treatment will be advertised a lot and will be a common approach by doctors. This treatment is ineffective for the long run. Medications work to mask your symptoms. What they don’t do is cure you. Reliance on medication can really cost you a lot in the long run. It will cost you financially and physically. Extended use of prescription medications can lead to dependence. Medication should be avoided altogether if possible.

After suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder for an extended period of time, it’s likely that you will seek OCD help. You may find yourself attempting various methods to cure yourself. You are not alone in this. Many other people have attempted the same thing and have failed. The reason that this happens is that people are often mislead with the information they use. A lot of the information you will come across during your research will be the product of people who lack true knowledge on the subject. This is the reason that many fail to succeed in overcoming their symptoms. This is a far from hopeless situation. There are many very reliable sources that you can access which will give you the information you require.

While seeking information on OCD help, you may find yourself under the impression that obsessive compulsive disorder is a form of illness or condition. It isn’t. The truth is that it’s actually a habit, not a mental illness. Failing to understand this hinders you in your attempt to overcome OCD. Once you accept this, you will be in the proper mindset to retrain your brain which is a necessary step in trying to overcome this habit.

There are many people out there willing to provide OCD help. Many lack the reliability that you desire. When looking to other people for help, you want to seek out people who have actually been through obsessive compulsive disorder themselves and have overcome it. People who have accomplished this are living examples that prove that the habit can be beaten. Since they’ve experienced it themselves, they can provide you with quality information that you can rely on in your attempt to beat your habit. These people are some of the finest sources that you can use.

When seeking OCD help, medication will likely be a recommended solution for you by doctors. Medication is a masking agent, not a cure, and will likely not be beneficial in the long run. Avoid medications in the majority of cases, if possible. The reason that many fail to overcome their obsessive compulsive disorder is a failure to receive quality information. The truth about OCD is that it’s a habit, not an illness, and it can be beaten without the use of medications. When seeking help from others, you want to seek out those who have been through what you are currently going through and have overcome it. People like this are quality sources that you know can provide you with useful information. Enjoy the information I have below!

Pure OCD as a type of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is less known than the common OCD type. This type of OCD takes the form of the sufferer fearing their own thoughts. They think things such as sporadic cursing in their minds, blasphemous statements, and gruesome images. This drives the sufferer to believe that they could be grotesquely sinful, evil at their core, or setting themselves up for future horrible actions. These thoughts drive the sufferer into behaviors that can consist of compulsory prayer, avoidance or mental habits which are meant to reduce or eliminate the anxiety they are feeling at the time.

There are many forms of treatment in regard to Pure OCD. As a first step the sufferer could delay the things that they do because of the thoughts they have (Compulsive Praying, avoidance etc). In order to progress with their treatment they need to be successful at delaying their response to the thoughts until a later point in time. Overcoming OCD is not an overnight thing, it’s meant to be treated in steps rather than big leaps. Taking this step is a way to help the sufferer overcome their anxiety. As they slowly proceed with lengthening the amount of time between their thoughts and their actions in response to them, they will eventually start to feel the anxiety decrease.

The next step in overcoming Pure OCD could be to not respond to the obsessions at all. In order for a sufferer to achieve this, they need to take another look at the way they perceive the danger in their thoughts. For instance, if someone has this OCD and it’s directed at religion, it could be helpful to remember that an involuntary thought should not be considered sinful and that God isn’t vengeful and it’s not like he’d punish someone for having an involuntary thought.

When people dealing with Pure OCD have thoughts that could be considered violent in nature, such as murdering someone or harming themselves, they could ask themselves: are my thoughts hurting people? If I imagine hurting myself am I actually hurting myself? It’s important to note that people who suffer from this type of OCD rarely if ever at all actually act on these thoughts that their minds show them. An OCD Workbook by Bruce Hyman and Cherry Pedrick state that “People with the Pure-O form of OCD are extremely unlikely to ever carry out the horrific acts and urges that pop into their heads.”

The ultimate goal of exposure-response prevention in regard to Pure OCD is to reduce the anxiety associated with the thoughts of the sufferer. These thoughts generally have a negative impact and can often shock or scare the sufferer. The goal is that by preventing one’s self from acting on the compulsions that come along with the thoughts. With repeated encounters with the thoughts while abstaining from the compulsions that come along with them comes a reduction in anxiety, this can be to the point where the obsessions themselves begin to decrease. I have some great OCD information for you below!

Are you having a hard time loving someone with OCD? Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can affect different kinds of people in numerous ways, but you don’t have to be the one who’s experiencing the problem directly to have difficulties of your own with it. When someone you care about shows signs of unusual behavior, it can frequently lead to causing trouble within the relationship. Most times this can get worse since no one actually understands what is happening. Bad thoughts have an easier time manifesting in our minds while something we care about appears to be off. We become fearful that the trouble has something to do with ourselves, or even begin to have wrong ideas about the other person. You may question whether or not their actions are made with the point of annoying you, to make a plain statement, or any amount of other reasons. If you wish to know for sure what is happening, and to save your relationship before it becomes worse, you ought to do both of you a favor and simply chat.

To understand what the person you care for is going through, you must first learn a little bit about what OCD really is. There are different kinds of OCD, and depending on what type the person is dealing with, it can be easier or harder to work with. If he or she opens up to you and tries to explain what they are feeling, the worst thing you can do is treat the situation like a mental illness. No matter how absurd these feelings may sound to you, they are real, and caused by thoughts and fears that need to be addressed. You may find that the person feels a need to perform rituals, or takes up strange habits when doing something simple that you do normally. Loving someone with OCD can be a challenge, but you can be a big help in their efforts to defeat the problem, through caring and support. There are treatments out there that you should discuss together, and find out which is right for that person.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder information can be found online in a wide range of sources, as well as in books designed to help people beat their symptoms. There are also professional counselors and therapists who can provide advice and treatment options to you. A lot of times these sources do not give complete information, however. The best was to learn how to stop OCD problems is by speaking with someone who has experience in dealing with it on a personal level. They can offer you the complete picture and give information based on what they have discovered and what worked for them. Most authors and doctors trying to provide this information have not dealt with OCD personally, and therefore they may leave out important things that could help you. Keep in mind that jumping from one system to the next can sometimes worsen the problem or cause confusion. This is why when you search for a method to defeat OCD, you should give each option you try a fair chance. Patience and time is something that every system will require from you, but when you are loving someone with OCD, your support and encouragement will play big role in helping them find wellness!

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder manifests itself in many ways but is commonly seen as some regular behaviors brought to extraordinarily obsessive levels. It’s common for a person to double check to see if their doors are locked or to wash their hands after they believe that they’ve come into contact with something dirty, these behaviors are amplified substantially with OCD. People who suffer from OCD find themselves doing these behaviors even when they aren’t necessary, to the point where it actually becomes a problem in their lives. These behaviors can even become physically damaging to a person in certain circumstances and requires that they take steps to overcome it.

A person who deals with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is someone who experiences uncontrolled unwanted thoughts, and/or repetitive behaviors that the person feels that they need to do to alleviate the anxiety created by the disorder. Many who suffer from this disorder recognize their behaviors as irrational but even though that is the case, these behaviors are oftentimes overpowering to the sufferer and they find themselves unable to break away from them. OCD causes the sufferer to become mentally fixated on something specific. For most people it’s easy to move on from one thought to another. For the sufferers, even after doing something, they feel unsatisfied with it as though it wasn’t even done in the first place which can drive them to consistently perform the action.

People who suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder deal with obsessions which are involuntary and consist of seemingly uncontrollable thoughts, images, or even impulses that repeat themselves over and over in the person’s mind. The sufferer doesn’t want these thoughts and usually understand how irrational these thoughts are. Unfortunately, these thoughts can’t be stopped simply because the sufferer doesn’t want them and they often consist of distracting as well as disturbing themes.

Most people who suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder fall into one of these categories:

The type that obsesses on checking:
Their compulsion drives them to repeatedly confirm that they have accomplished a task such as making sure that they’ve turned off the oven or locked their doors. This behavior is typical with situations that could provide a possible hazard if not checked properly.

The type that obsesses on doubt or sin:
This type thinks that if they don’t complete everything to perfection they will either be punished in some way or something terrible will happen.

The type that dwells on cleanliness:
This type of sufferers is obsessed with cleanliness. This kind of person fears contamination by bacteria or other things that could possibly harm them through a lack of cleanliness.

The type that obsesses on Hoarding:
This type of sufferer refuses to throw anything away whether it’s of importance or not based on the thought that if they do, something bad will happen.

The type that counts and/or arranges:
The sufferers of this have a specific feeling of need for symmetry. Can also be rather superstitious about numbers, colors, and arrangements.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can also occur in children and teens as well as adults. Fortunately though, the symptoms are very similar throughout the age groups which make it very possible to spot if you are aware of the behaviors that manifest as a result. I’ve dealt with as well as experienced a vast number of OCD scenarios for myself and have a wealth of information for you to take advantage of so you have come to the right place in regard to seeking answers for this disorder. I have great information for you below!

According to Wikipedia ™, this is what Agoraphobia is…Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape.

As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this “safe place.”

(the above definition is from wikipedia.com ™)

I used to have anxiety when I would get away from my “safe place.” My home was my safe place and I remember after having my first anxiety attack, I had a really hard time getting away from the house. I felt like I was going to have another panic attack, so I would quickly run back to the house.

OCD is a byproduct of an anxiety issue, so this information should be very helpful.

First what I would do is set markers in my mind. For instance. I would get up in the morning and go outside and say to myself, I am going to walk to that telephone pole right there. Then I would go and do it. If I felt a lot of anxiety, I would go back home. The next day I would try again, but try to go a little bit farther. Every day I would go farther and farther. Some days I wasn’t able to go as far as I did before, but I kept trying every day. After a while it became easier once I realized that it wasn’t going to hurt me how far I went.

This needs to be applied to your OCD. If you feel like performing a ritual. Don’t and see how long you can go without performing it. Sometimes you’ll fail, sometimes you’ll succeed, but you must try every time to not do it. Really don’t just try, just don’t perform the ritual, period.

Take action: Now you know how to get over agoraphobia and you know how to use the same principle in your OCD. Set markers for yourself, say, I am not going to perform rituals for at least three hours.

I guarantee you by the time three hours is up most of the time you would have forgot or the anxiety related to the ritual has greatly subsided. When the three hours are up, just tell yourself that you won’t perform any rituals today. Just commit to today.

Everyday repeat this process and you will find yourself becoming OCD free and it will make you happy, trust me, it made me really happy to watch my progress!
